The credentials below represent the qualifications and experience of the Primary SAP associated with DOTSAP. How to Verify a Legitimate DOT SAP
Before working with any Substance Abuse Professional, drivers should confirm the provider meets qualification requirements established by the U.S. Department of Transportation under 49 CFR Part 40.
- Confirm the SAP meets DOT qualification requirements.
- Verify the SAP completed training required under 49 CFR Part 40.281.
- Confirm the SAP has experience working with CDL drivers in the Clearinghouse system.
- Be cautious of services offering shortcuts or guarantees.
- Confirm the person conducting the evaluation is a qualified professional.
